TheWild Water Lemon, Passiflora foetida, also known as or Running Pop, is an annual or perennial, 1.5 to 6 meters long, climbing (by axillary tendrils), fruit bearing vine, a species of passion fruit native to the south- Americas (Amazonian rain-forest). Wild Water Lemon stems are thin, wiry and woody and covered with sticky yellow hairs.

Passiflora foetida leaves are alternate, heart-shaped or three- to five-lobed and viscid-hairy with an unpleasant odor when crushed. They have been proven effective against several human pathogenic bacteria, for example, Streptococcus pyogenes. Young leaves and plant tips are edible when cooked.

The flowers are solitary, axillary, white to pale cream colored, about 5-6 cm diameter, bisexual. The plant flowers all year round, opening in the morning and closing before noon.
