The Clymenia polyandra or Citrus Polyandra is a small, evergreen, tropical – sub tropical fruit bearing tree, 5-8 meters tall with spineless twigs. Clymenia Polyandra belongs to Rutaceae family to which citrus belong, the genus Clymenia. The tree is a native of the Papua New Guinea.

Leaves of the Citrus Polyandra are very curious, being oblong or oblong-ovate, pointed at both ends, narrowed at the base, irregularly serrated with the base fusing into a very short, slender, wingless leafstalk.

The flowers are developed singly in the axils of the leaves; sweet-smelling, petals are yellow, short, 7mm and broad 7 mm and with a lot of stamens, 50-100.

The fruit of Clymenia Polyandra is lemon-shaped, 5cm long and 6-7 cm wide, with a short tit at the apex. The ripe yellow fruit is edible with a sweet pulp and with pleasant taste and numerous seeds. Fruit is consumed raw or made into marmalade, jellies, sauces, preserved in syrup or made into pickles.

Tree propagation is usually by seed but also by grafting.
