Akar Kubal Susu, Willughbeia sarawakensis, is a very little known, outside its native Indonesia, fruit bearing, large, tropical climber. Akar Subal Susu is one of those wild and uncommon tropical fruits with a high potentiality for exploitation as a new commercial fruit crop and should be promoted for production as an orchard fruit.
Willughbeia sarawakensis climbs on large forest trees for support. Leaves are opposite, glossy green and somewhat leathery. Fruit is edible, sweet and tasty. The edible part is the plentiful, orange color pulp that rounds the seeds and tastes like orange jelly.
